A small trifle, emma kelly
A Small Trifle is a tale about authenticity. The protagonist Eve is a married mother of two and a bisexual woman. She teaches dance at a school where she met her lover Annalise. Eve’s husband Simon is a sexually experimental accountant who is seeking new thrills. Eve’s mother Barbara is a homophobic pensioner who lives in the north of England. A Small Trifle presents as a kitchen sink drama which explores sexual identity. It touches on gender identity and explores what it means to be queer and a mother.
